Lunaire began with a flame lit long before our first candle was ever poured.

In 2014, I (Krish) underwent open heart surgery. It was a moment that changed everything—not just physically, but spiritually. When life is cracked open like that, you don’t return to autopilot. You start noticing the small, sacred moments. The stillness of a quiet room. The comfort of a warm scent. The soft glow of a candle marking time not by the clock, but by feeling.

Candles became my way of grounding. Of healing. Of being present. But the deeper I fell in love with them, the more I noticed a painful contradiction:
For something so deeply tied to wellbeing, why was so much waste left behind?

Beautiful glass jars stacked up in corners, too lovely to toss, too many to reuse. I tried everything—DIY projects, repurposing, recycling—but the truth lingered: single-use candles weren’t designed with intention. And that didn’t sit right with me.

That’s when Quincy—my partner in life and in Lunaire, with a background in industrial design—stepped in.

Together, we asked:
What if candles could be more?
Not just beautiful to burn, but designed to last. Crafted to be refilled. Built to honour the ritual—not clutter the planet.

And so, in 2022, Lunaire® was born.
