At 14, I underwent open heart surgery.
When I came home, life felt different. Slower. More fragile. More intentional.
Candles became part of my recovery - not just for light, but for comfort. For calm. For creating small moments that felt safe again.
But over time, something didn’t sit right.
Every candle I loved left something behind.
Beautiful jars I couldn’t throw away.
Too many to keep.
Too wasteful to ignore.
I tried to reuse them. Store them. Repurpose them.
Nothing actually solved the problem. Because the truth is - most candles are designed to be replaced, not kept.
That’s when Quincy, my partner (and an industrial designer), asked a simple question:
Why isn’t there a candle you can keep forever?
